London, Paint the Town Red!

We took London by storm. Think we have seen more in these 4 days then we have in the last 3 years we have been here. Stayed at the Marble Arch Hotel.

The Orielo Jazz Club had their incredible strange drinks and great jazz the evening was fun. Loved riding in the cabs. Managed to sort out that taxis for 5 was cheaper and more fun than the metro and this one was pink

Saturday we  booked a ride on the London Eye . We managed to stand in more lines than most people do to do this. But now I can say I did it.

Trafalgar Square and viewing the impressionist room and of course the Skull.

Find the skull

Walked through of Kirks favorite street with more book stores.

That evening we spent at Faulty Towers dinning and rolling on the floor with laughter. Loved Basil, Cyril and especially Emanuel. We paid extra to have Scott abused more than usual at dinner.

Sunday we were off and running to London Tower, Bridge and yachting basin.

There we tried to see how many Americans could fit in a red telephone booth.?

Went to the Globe and saw “As You Like It”. I read the cliff notes it helped. Great place to see Shakespeare if you have to. Very hot and humid , not at all Like British weather .

And after a hot day at the globe the only way to finish it off was with a Pimms!

We took a walk in the park. .

A trip to London would not be complete without tea at Harrods.

That turned into beer and champagne.

Monday did the regular drill in Oxford, Christ Church, Bodleian , Radcliffe Camera, Bridge of Sighs, shrunken heads at the Pitts River then off to punting.

Delicious lunch at the Cherwell Boathouse, and the punting to a pub for a beer and back again .

Trip could not be complete without a stop at OPMD. So a quick tour of the lab.

Then we shuffled them off to the airport!

What a whirlwind of a tour. What a great time visiting old friends!
