So great to be back home with Izzy and Jelly, but not for long.
Headed out to Devises and picked up Ella to bring her home.
Now the race was on to get through the Kenneth Avon before it closed for repair, and on to the Thames before it did its winter flooding.
Weather was on my side, not much rain.
Had so much support from the Devises Marina, Alex and Heidi were wonderful. Joe helped me take Ella out on the first day and trained me in everything! Can not thank them enough.
The dogs settled in somewhat. Although if they can not see me they would bark. So it is a work in progress.
My first bridge alone.
Made it through without a scratch.
Had a couple help me do the locks and bridges for a couple of days before Gus showed up. Thanks to my good friends from DC, for recommending I get a hold of them to help out. They were more than happy to tag along and do the heavy lifting.
Sun was setting, first thing I learned that driving through the canals at night is not a good idea.
Had a cow open the lock, crazy cow!
Gus was wondering if I had auto pilot? I told him he was my auto pilot!
Gus showed up and off we went.
Filled up at a Cornish Pirates Den. Had everything from nic nacs, boat accessories, clothes, hats, and paintings.
There was a painting that I liked and he told me to take it, he was tired of it hanging around. So I did and named it Ella after my boat.
I am sure it is a Dega.
Now I know why I had kids, to open the locks and bridges!
Ran into Mikki along the way and we buddy boated down the canal. Made the trip faster as one would open the locks and bridges as the other would close them.
Made it to Abingdon Marina in no time at all.
Lovely trip on the Kenneth Avon and Thames.
